Fluconazole is used to treat serious fungal or yeast infections, including vaginal candidiasis, oropharyngeal candidiasis (thrush, oral thrush), esophageal candidiasis (candida esophagitis), other candida infections (including urinary tract infections, peritonitis [inflammation of the lining of the stomach], and infections that may occur in different parts of the body), or fungal (cryptococcal) meningitis. It is also used in children on life support called extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). This medicine works by killing the fungus or yeast, or preventing its growth. Fluconazole is also used to prevent candidiasis in patients having bone marrow transplants who receive cancer or radiation treatment.
Direction to Use:
DIFLUCAN® ONE is administered orally. Use in AdultsFor vaginal candidiasis, fluconazole 150 mg (DIFLUCAN® ONE) should beadministered as a single oral dose. The median time to onset of symptom relief following a 150 mg single oral dose for thetreatment of vaginal candidiasis is one day. The range of time to onset of symptomrelief is one hour to nine days. Use in ChildrenSingle dose fluconazole is not recommended for use in children under 18 years of ageexcept under doctor supervision.
Side Effects
Common fluconazole side effects include nausea, headache, and stomach pain. Diarrhea is also possible. Mild side effects tend to resolve on their own or go away when you finish your treatment course. Serious fluconazole side effects such as skin rash, liver damage, and heart rhythm changes are also possible

DIFLUCAN® ONE is intended for oral use in the treatment of vaginal candidiasis. Do not use fluconazole in the preceding five days. Tell your doctor if you are allergic to fluconazole, or if you are taking any other medicines. Tell your doctor if you are taking cyclosporine, e.g. isosorbide dinitrate, or isosporin, or warfarin. Tell your doctor if you are taking, which is an antifungal drug that kills certain fungus or yeast while sparing its growth. These medicines such as ketoconazole, ritonavir, saquinavir, and voriconazole may be used with fluconazole for the treatment of vaginal candidiasis; however, they may not be as effective if used with fluconazole for the treatment of oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis.
Precautions
Before taking fluconazole, tell your doctor if you or any one of your other health insurance plans have exclusive Medicare or insurance plans. If you have any health plan that does not cover fluconazole, consider purchasing from a pharmacy that stocks top-quality medicines such as DIFLUCAN. DIFLUCAN® ONE is not intended for use by women or children. Women should not nurse while using fluconazole while pregnant or while breastfeeding. The medicine should be taken according to the doctor's advice. Do not take it more than once a day. You should take it at the same time each day as prescribed. Do not take it more often than directed. Taking too much Diflucan can cause liver problems.
If you are taking it more than once a day, or if the symptoms are not better, do not take it. Take Diflucan 150mg once a day. However, do not take it more often than directed. If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If you are taking it more often, you may get the infection sooner, but it may take longer to heal. It is better to take the medicine twice a day.
The medicine should be used for the length of time it is prescribed. It may not work for all fungal infections. For example, when Diflucan 150mg is used to treat candidiasis (fungal infection of the skin that causes hair loss and inflamed skin), it may not work for the infection of the nails. When used for longer periods of time, the medicine may not work for fungal infections of the nails. For example, when Diflucan 150mg is used to treat the fungal infection of the nails, it may not work for the infection of the fungi.
If you are taking the medicine with food, do not eat it. The medicine may not work for your particular fast acting and high high fibre meal. It may take longer to work if you take the medicine with food.

Fluconazole 150mg (also known as Diflucan and other brand names) kills certain types of fungi and restores your body's natural balance.
Fluconazole treatment for thrush is simple - just one capsule to be swallowed with a glass of water. You can take this medicine at any time of day, with or without a meal.
Women taking fluconazole should see an improvement within a few days. Some women will notice improvement in 24 hours.
For men, the condition can take a little longer to clear up. The symptoms should clear up within a few days, although this can take up to a week.

Thrush is an infection which can occur without sexual contact, so it is not a sexually transmitted disease. However, the infection can be passed on during sex, so it is recommended that you should not have sex until the infection has cleared up.
If you regularly suffer from thrush, then it's advisable that both you and your partner have thrush treatment at the same time.
Taking too much can make you unwell, so contact your doctor or nearest hospital immediately if you take more than you should.
As with any medicine, there are side effects. Although a serious allergic reaction to fluconazole is rare. Common side effects (occurring in one in ten patients) include nausea, stomach discomfort, diarrhoea, wind, rash and headache. However, these side effects are usually mild and don't tend to last long. If symptoms persist, or are particularly severe, contact your doctor.
